Jeff Sessions, a foreign policy adviser to Trump. Sessions is now the U.S. attorney general. Erickson in the email wrote that Russia was “quietly but actively seeking a dialogue with the U.S.” and wanted to use the NRA’s annual convention in Louisville, Ky., as a “first contact.” Erickson has a close connection to Alexander Torshin, a top player in Putin’s United Russia party.
