You should read this story about the Trump government ridiculous response to the latest school shooting (the 11th already this year, and we're still in January).

• A very late and brief reaction
  
• When a reporter asks what the government is doing about it (after promising that in the wake of the Las Vegas mass shooting), Sarah Sanders accuses the reporter of accusing the President of being complicit in the shooting.
  
• Which, at the minimum, is incredibly hypocritical as the government ran an ad recently accusing the Democrats being complicit in every murder committed by an illegal immigrant.
  

The upshot: you don't really count for this government if you get shot, only if you get shot by a Muslim terrorist or an illegal immigrant do they take notice (and more than that, scream and shout about it). That is, 99%+ of gun victims don't count.
