Nasty President - Admin - 11-03-2017 There are so many stories to illustrate the sheer nastiness of Trump (ridiculing a handicapped journalist, going after gold star families, etc. etc.), but we have to start somewhere. How about this one: Quote:President Donald Trump tweeted Friday that the decision allowing Bowe Bergdahl not to serve prison time is a "complete and total disgrace." He tweeted, "The decision on Sergeant Bergdahl is a complete and total disgrace to our Country and to our Military." The Army soldier, who the Taliban held for five years after he deserted his Afghanistan outpost, pleaded guilty last month to the charges. Bergdahl was released in May 2014 in a controversial exchange for five Guantanamo Bay detainees. Trump has never been a fan of Bergdahl -- in March 2017, he called Bergdahl a "dirty, rotten traitor."Trump on Bergdahl decision: 'Complete and total disgrace' - CNNPolitics A few pointers:
RE: Nasty President - Admin - 01-09-2019 Quote:Anyone who has logged on to the internet this year knows of Trump’s obsession with drumming up an artificial immigration crisis, warning of migrants surging across the southern border. But his government has the same single-minded fixation on removing immigrants who are long-term residents of the United States. Last September, I wrote about how ice has turned its attention to the Mauritanians of Columbus, Ohio. These West Africans were victims of ethnic cleansing. In the 1990s, they fled from the Arab government of their country, which had attempted to empty its borderlands of black people—a violent campaign that featured massacre, torture, rape, and enslavement. When the black Mauritanians came to the United States, they applied for asylum. Although they had a strong case for sanctuary, they didn’t speak English.Despite Shutdown, Trump Pays to Deport Mauritanians - The Atlantic RE: Nasty President - Admin - 05-16-2020 Quote:With hunger rising at an alarming rate across the U.S.—particularly among children—as the coronavirus crisis sends unemployment to levels not seen since the Great Depression, the Trump administration this week resumed its effort to strip nutrition benefits from more than a million people by appealing a court ruling that blocked the Agriculture Department from imposing more punitive work requirements..'Monstrous Cruelty: As Hunger Soars, Trump USDA Resumes Effort to Take Nutrition Benefits From More Than a Million People | Common Dreams News RE: Nasty President - Admin - 10-22-2020 Quote:But as Rupert Murdoch’s outlets and the president himself continue to flog the scandal, spare a moment for Hunter Biden—a man who is recovering from addiction, a brother whose misery is the apparent shame of having survived his siblings, a son who is now the bludgeon that enemies hope will destroy his father. He is being sacrificed to a president who views the sadistic exploitation of a family’s tragedy as his own best hope of salvation. In its grotesqueness, this is a near-perfect closing argument, a presidency distilled.Trump Is Waging Psychological Warfare Against Biden - The Atlantic |
